Celebrating the life of
William "John" Davis
Passed away on July 31, 2019
William John Davis, 69, passed peacefully on July 31, 2019 at Memorial Health University Medical Center surrounded by his family.
John was born on October 11, 1949 in Savannah, GA, where he lived his whole life. He graduated from Jenkins High School in 1968. John worked in the family business, Jack V. Davis and Sons Painting, for several years before he started Davis Paint and Wallcovering on DeRenne Avenue in the 1970s. John was then co-owner of Davis Brothers Painting, and later was the regional sales representative for Diversey Chemical before retiring. He was an active member of The Gideons International for many years and held state office in the organization.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Dorothea Davis. Surviving are his wife, Carol Davis of Savannah; his son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Shannon Davis, of Broadway, VA; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Tiffany Davis of Waco, TX; his son and daughter-in-law, Wade and Jennifer Davis of Libertyville, IL; 9 grandchildren as well as his siblings, Stan Davis, Linda Constantino, Glenn Davis, Debbie Hutchinson and their families.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 4 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Monday, August 5 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey East Memorial Park.

May God bless you and comfort you during your time of sorrow and grief but no that the Bible says that our loss is Heaven's gain for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord!!!
