Celebrating the life of

Dorothea Heidmann

December 09, 1921 - January 20, 2015

Dorothea Heidmann

Dorothea Heidmann

Dorothea Heidmann, a child of God, went to be with her maker after a period of declining health.  At 93, she was looking forward to a happy reunion with her parents, siblings and many in-laws, husband Gerd and son Harold who have all pre-deceased her.  Wife of 52 Years to the Rev Gerd Heidmann and mother to three, Harold, Jeanette and Timothy and their spouses, Terri, Steve Farish and Julia. As Grandma Doty, she was grandmother and great grandmother to Jennifer, Michael, Savannah & Catherine Maddux and Sarah & Teddy Heidmann.

As a family with small children, Gerd & Doty loved to take long driving vacations, usually visiting National or State parks and often viewing many churches along the way.

At every stop the ball gloves came out of the trunk while Doty prepared sandwiches from the cooler. Her life journey took her from Detroit MI to Toledo OH and back to Detroit before retirement in Florida, then Georgia where she lived relatively independently until mid-2014.  We give thanks to Hospice Savannah where she spent the last weeks of her life in their loving care, assisted by patient individuals from Home Instead.  Your caring and presence eased the family concerns for her comfort and safety.

A service of praise to God and burial service will be arranged at a later date.
