Dawn.. I am so sorry for ya'll. Walter was a funny guy. When last I saw him, he had no children...just you & yours. I remember he was crazy for all of you. Happy & loyal.. Won't be at the funeral as I have to work, but I will have a personal moment of silence for your family at 3PM. Jed hopes to be able to stop by. The kids send their thoughts.. Lee Meshew

I'll never forget the night that Dawn and Walter invited (my ex) and me over for dinner when we were all much younger and they were living on LaRoche and (my ex) wouldn't go without our recently acquired dog from Hell "Mink". Walter put the little precious annoyance in the freezer and then asked (my ex) to get him some ice! "Shut up all you horrified people, that dog lived to annoy others healthfully for another 20 years."
- Joe, Savannah, Ga
My deepest condolence to the Jennings family for the loss of your dear loved one. During This most difficult time, may your hearts be comforted by Jehovah God's promise to swallow up death forever and to wipe away the tears from all faces.(Isaiah 25:8). Also during the days to come, may your father's sweet memories fill your hearts with joy and peace.

Walter was one of the finest and kindest man I have known. He gave everyone a laugh and his prayers would make you feel so much better. God wanted Walter home where there would be no more pain. God speed my dear friend and see you soon. janice

I taught Walter many years ago at Bible Baptist School. He was such a gentleman and always had a smile. He also had a great sense of humor. I am so sorry to hear he lost his earthly battle with his illness, but I do believe he is in heaven today and we will see him again.

I help coach Walter when he was a senior in high school at Bible Baptist in Savannah Georgia. What a true competitor he was and a gifted athlete. But more than that he was a really good young man. I lost contact with Walter up until about a four months ago. We talked several times on the phone and made plans to meet. All of our plans fell through because of his many visits to the hospital. On the phone we talked about his love for his family and his belief in God. He said he wasn't afraid to die but he wasn't ready to leave. I am so sorry that we were unable to meet again before before he left. I will say a prayer for his children and family and try to make the funeral. I love you water and I know your at peace now.

Heavy hearted this morning. Still kind of in disbelief Walter has passed on. We always wish for that last goodbye. Walter had been sick for a while. He actually hung in there for a good bit longer than expected. A will to live and share what he felt Gods presence meant to him and shared that with his friends. There was no doubt he loved God and his country and it's soldiers! Still, in his discomfort and pain, he was trying to comfort others he knew was in pain and tried to be inspirational despite his own situation. He had been very, very supportive of me and my family over the last year. I am so very sorry for his children and family. God bless you Walter Jennings, and may you now know true peace and life without any more pain. You will truly be missed my friend.
