Doris Mixon Sapp

SAVANNAH – Doris Mixon Sapp, 94, passed away on March 10, 2015 She was born in Willie, Georgia to Johnny and Maude Mixon and spent most of her life in Savannah. She graduated from Commercial High School. She retired from the Corps of Engineers with 35 years of service in the Personnel Office.She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Temple where she taught Sunday School in the Junior Department for years. More recently she was a member of the Ready Sunday School Class. She loved the Lord, her family, and her church. She enjoyed camping and going to the beach with her family. She loved working in the yard, working with her apartments, shopping, and listening to Jimmy Swaggart.
She was preceded in death by Prentice Sapp, her husband of 49 years, her parents, and her brother, John Cecil MIxon. She is survived by her daughter, Judy Diederich; sister, Carolyn (Jack) Davis of Savannah; two grandchildren, Renee Dillard and Walt Barnes; eight great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Helene Star of Gulf Breeze, Florida; niece, Jill Carmichael; and nephew, Jack Davis.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2015, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.
The interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
