I am still in disbelief that Pete is gone. I started working at Memorial in 1989 in MST ICU and I had the absolute privilege of having Pete as my preceptor. She took me under her wing and taught me so much. She was such an awesome nurse and I wanted to be as knowledgeable as her. She was tough on me at times and there were days that I wondered if I could make it in the ICU but I survived. We worked side by side in the unit for many years. I have always considered her as one of the best nurses. She had a look that she could give that would scare you so much but deep down she was the most kind hearted loving nurse around.
