Marian Powell Selig
June 27, 1927 - May 28, 2015
Savannah- Marian Powell Selig beloved wife of Thomas Selig, passed away on May 28, 2015 at Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA. She was born on June 27, 1927 in Modena, PA. She worked at General Electric for many years in Philadelphia where she met the love of her life, Tom Selig, and married him on April 29, 1977. Marian was a devoted wife and a true friend. She was an avid animal lover, supporter of the local shelter, and a joy to the many friends she met across the country.
She was predeceased by her parents Benjamin Bicking Powell and Anna Virginia Topper Powell and by her brothers Benjamin J Powell and Laurence (Neal) Powell, all of Pennsylvania.
Marian is survived by her loving spouse, a brother Fredrick Powell of Lansdowne, Pennsylvania, 4 step-daughters and 11 step-grandchildren, all who will miss her dearly and cherish her memory.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church in Savannah on June 9, 2015 at 10:00 am with a commemorative gathering in the church narthex one hour preceding the service. Interment at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA will be held at 12:30 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2015.
The family extends sincere thanks to the kind and attentive care she received at Candler Hospital in her final days.
