Celebrating the life of

Doug P. Reynolds

December 24, 1949 - June 02, 2015

Doug P. Reynolds

DOUG REYNOLDS – LOVED BY FEW AND AN ASSHOLE TO MANY!!

Doug was born in Seattle WA on December 24, 1949 to Viola and Richard Reynolds. The Reynolds relocated back to Atlanta shortly thereafter where Doug and his sister Ann completed school. He attended Georgia Southern for 1 year, but was told he was having too much fun and politely asked not to return. He then enlisted in the US Army since his draft lottery number was 2. He spent a year in the jungles of Viet Nam where he contracted Malaria and received two Purple Hearts among other medals. He never thought he would come home alive but he did, albeit somewhat jaded about life.

He then married and produced two children, Ross and Nichole. Somehow he managed to get them raised and in his early 30s he broke out on his own with Ross and Nichole continued to be a daddy’s girl.

As they grew up he went to the neighborhood bar and really never left, simply changed addresses many times. Then in 1998 he met Sally playing trivia and drinking beer when the bartender introduced her to him as the person who consistently beat him. She probably singlehandedly saved his life even though he was an unwilling participant allowing him to live another 15 years. They moved to Wilmington Island for Sally’s job and met many wonderful likeminded people and hung out in several places on “The Island”.

Sally called him one of the most irreverent people she had ever met. Another friend said he really liked Doug even though he was a little bit grumpy. Doug loved his “crack machine” time at ISB and every once in a while would interject a “Dougism” when no one thought he was paying attention.

We will celebrate Doug’s unique life and viewpoint on life and people at Islands Sports Bar & Grill on July 4 about 2 pm with Bar-B-Que and Beer.

Love,

Sally, Ross and Susan, Nichole and Daniel
