Norma D. Suttles Gourno
May 06, 1927 - June 17, 2015
SAVANNAH- NORMA D. SUTTLES GOURNO, 88, died June 17, 2015, at Spanish Oaks Retreat under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. She was born May 6, 1927, in Jacksonville, FL. Having been an early resident of The Landings in the 1980’s, while residing part-time in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, she returned to The Landings 25 years ago with her daughter, Peggy, and granddaughter, Amy. She was an avid tennis player and golfer (even scoring a Hole in One on Marshwood)! She especially enjoyed reading, bridge, Bible Study, and ice cream. Helping her family was her greatest priority. She was a longtime member of Skidaway Island United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Park L.M. Gourno.
Surviving are her daughters, Peggy G. Utley of Savannah, GA, and Susan G. Reda (Tony) of Northport, NY; her son, David Gourno (Sim) of Thailand; and her grandchildren, Amy, Sarah, Simon, and Michael.
A private family gathering will take place in Atlanta at a later date. The family suggests any remembrances be made in her memory to The Savannah Early Childhood Foundation (Don Mayer, Treasurer, 40 Modena Island Drive, Savannah, GA, 31411) or The First Tee of Savannah (P.O. Box 2265, Savannah, GA, 31402).

The few times I met Nonnie, she was such a cheerful lady - always a smile on her face. She was loved and cared for by her family and is now smiling down on you all. She is happy and at peace.
