Passed away on July 02, 2015
SAVANNAH - Mr. Benjamin G. Wright, 84, died July 2, 2015. His loving wife Lyn (Carolyn) of 40 years, and children, Benjamin, Jeffrey, Douglas, Carol and Jackie, survive. Grandchildren, Dennis and Jennifer, and great grandchildren, Trace, Emmie, and Abbie also survive.
A U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, Ben was educated at Wabash College in Indiana, and Drexel University. His career was in Engineering, and he was involved in the construction of Chemical Facilities, Refineries, and Power Plants, for M.W. Kellogg Co. and U.S. Synthetic Fuels Corporation.
Ben and Lyn moved to the Landings, in Savannah, in 1987. Ben was well known within the community for his dedication and total commitment to all his volunteer efforts. He was an active member and communicant of St James, Catholic Church, serving in multiple ministries, as well the Parish Financial Committee.
Ben served on many Landings Club committees and was an elected Director of The Landings Association. Ben also dedicated himself to the Landings Military Family Relief Fund and chaired its annual golf tournament. He will be best remembered by many of his golf buddies for his dry wit, and huge heart.
A memorial Service will be held at St. James Catholic Church on Monday, July 20th at 11AM.
