Karla.. I was saddened to hear that Mike left his earthly home earlier this month. I was out of town and just found out today. He was a real gentleman and a truly nice human being. Mike was always positive, supportive and sincere and loved talking about his dogs. I enjoyed working with him at The Landings Company - he was one of a kind and will be missed ... but will live on forever in the memories of those who knew him.

To Karla, Steve, Michael and Michelle: We just finished our class reunion for the 1962 graduates of Toppenish High School. Mike's name was mentioned frequently. A few of us played a tribute-round of golf with him in mind. I was honored to offer a few words about Mike at this reunion. He was a friend to all, an excellent student, amazingly involved in numerous sports, academic clubs and service organizations. He was an inspiration on the golf course to those of us that chose to play the game. There were six of us who called ourselves the "Toppenish Homies". We gathered in various places in the USA over the past 60 years to solidify the bonds of friendship that started as far back as junior high school. I am saddened by his passing, but will continue to hold on to the fond memories of my time with Mike.

I was deeply saddened reading that Mike had passed on from this life. I met him in high school and always enjoyed his company. He truly had a bounce in his step. I always appreciated watching his smooth swing on a golf course and there is a shed on the Mt. Adams Golf Course that has a dimple or two on it. I know at least one of those dimples was a Mike shot. He was also a pretty good crab eater. It was fun to watch him go through them at our little gathering on Whidbey Island a few years ago. He was a very nice man and will be missed by many of us.
- Chuck Tuman, SEATTLE, Washington

I (Pat) have known Mike for 60+ years since we were students at Toppenish High School in Toppenish, WA. He was in my brother, Pete's class, a year behind me. I have always enjoyed his sense of humor as well as the friendship we shared. I shared some very fun times with him on various golf courses and other social situations. Our main communication during the last 20 years has been through the "Toppenish Homies" group and the e=mails we shared and sometimes annual "get togethers". He has been in my prayers during these last troubling years with his health problems. Both Kati & I are saddened to hear of his passing. Our condolences go out to his wife, Karla, as well as the rest of his family. Savannah Mike will be missed by this Toppenish Homie.

Mike and I were friends since the age of 13. I lived with his family for a time right after high school and we lived together again when he was in college at the University of Washington. As young men with small children we both worked in San Francisco at the same time. It’s the long way of saying we had history and even in the periods when we didn’t see each other there was always a place for him in my heart. He’ll remain there forever.

I just learned of Mike’s passing. I was his secretary for four years in the ‘80’s and he was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known! We exchanged Christmas cards every year and I am so sad to hear he’s gone. My deepest condolences to Karla and his family.
