James Vargo Harvey, Sr.
August 21, 1938 - July 22, 2015
Savannah- James Vargo Harvey, Sr., 76, died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at his home surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren. James was born August 21, 1938 in Savannah and was raised at Bethesda Home for Boys. After service in the U.S. Navy, he was an Iron Worker with Local 709 until retirement.
Surviving is his wife, Harriet Harvey; children, James Harvey, Jr., Deborah Dixon, Jamee Meyer, Ed Adams, Debra Davis; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the Hodgson Chapel. Burial will be private.
The family suggests that any remembrances be made in his memory to Bethesda Alumni, 9520 Ferguson Ave., Savannah, GA 31406
