Ann Marie Tilton Weil

Thunderbolt - Ann Marie Tilton Weil, 59, died peacefully Saturday, September 12, 2015 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Savannah, daughter of John H. Tilton, Sr. and Harriet Huggins Tilton. Ann was a 1973 graduate of Saint Vincent’s Academy and for a short time attended Sacred Heart College in Belmont, North Carolina. She later graduated from Georgia State University with an Associate’s Degree, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Armstrong State College and received a Master’s Degree from Georgia Southern University. As a dedicated advance practice nurse, Ann believed in affordable health care for all. She worked tirelessly as a medical advocate for the indigent at the J.C. Lewis Health Care Center for many years. She was a member of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Walter B. Weil of Thunderbolt; son, Aaron Weil (Emily) of Atlanta; daughter, Hannah Rose Weil of Thunderbolt; brothers, John Tilton (Gwen) of Ridgeland; Paul Tilton (Darlene) of Athens; David Tilton (Christina) of Fripp Island; granddaughter, Sidney Rose Weil of Atlanta and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made to Island Hospice, 3 West Perry St., Savannah, GA 31401.
