Cuong Bui

Cuong Bui, age 67, passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on November 9, 2015 at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, GA with his loving wife by his side. Born on February 7, 1948 in Nha Trang, Vietnam, Cuong began his career as a pilot at the age of 23. He was proud to be a part of the Republic of Vietnam Air Force and a veteran of the Vietnam War. His greatest passion was aviation and after coming to the United States in 1975, he began a dedicated career with Gulfstream. He retired after 36 years of service due to illness. Cuong will always be remembered for his admirable work ethic and dedication to his family. He came to this country with little and worked long hours to provide a very comfortable life for his family including private school and college education for his children.
Cuong is survived by his wife, Tuyet, of 37 years, daughter Jessica Bui Campbell (Chi), son Brian (Nam) Bui, grandson Austin Bui Campbell, brothers, sisters and other extended family. Cuong was a loving and dedicated father, husband and grandfather.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel in Savannah on Tuesday, November 10.
A private funeral service for Cuong will be at the same location on Wednesday, November 11 at 9:00 AM. Cuong will be cremated with plans to return his remains to Nha Trang.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made on his behalf to the American Cancer Society (with a designation for lung cancer) or to the National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force in Pooler.
