Celebrating the life of
Glenda "Joyce" Collins
May 04, 1948 - November 12, 2015
Savannah/Hilton Head/Blowing Rock- Glenda “Joyce” Coleman Collins, 67, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015. Joyce was from Cobbtown, GA. where she grew up and knew her husband, Leonard Collins, all of her childhood life. After they were married they lived in several places but settled in Savannah in 1978 where they raised their children and she assisted Leonard in his business. After their retirement, they built a summer home in Blowing Rock, NC and moved to Hilton Head. However they still consider Savannah home where their children live.
Joyce’s love and career was her family. She was a great Mom, “Mimi” (grandmother) and wife. Her family came first and she always put family ahead of herself. She was a very energetic, social, fun loving, out-going person. She loved staying in shape, walking 4 miles every day up until the time she got sick. She also loved entertaining, always the first one to plan a party or host a social event. She loved to dance and was the first one on the dance floor. She always saw a glass as being half full until the very end. She never met a stranger and to know her was to love her.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Collins, who she was married to for 48 years; children, Dana (Kelly) Meyer and Clay (Sarah) Collins, both from Savannah; grandchildren, Morgan and Cole Meyer, Sloan, Meredith, and Sally Collins and sister, June (David) DeLoach of Bellville, GA.
There will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family at the Savannah Golf Club, 1661 President Street, Savannah, GA, from 5pm until 8pm on Sunday, November 15.
The family would like to thank the many people who sent cards, flowers and most importantly prayers for Joyce during her illness.
Please send remembrances in lieu of flowers either to Isle of Hope Methodist Church, Savannah, GA or Blowing Rock Methodist Church, Blowing Rock, NC.

Our days here on earth will never be as sunny as once they were, for Joyce has gifted her light now to the inside of Heaven's door. And on days when we hear thunder begin to roar from up on high, that'll be our Joyce, reminding us, she's up there, dancing across Heaven's floor. Dance, sweet friend, dance and smile. To Leonard, the entire extended Collins family and friends, we share in your sorrow. Joyce was an exceptional person, and everyone loved her. She will be missed.
