Janet and family words cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. It breaks my heart just thinking about you and your family. May Bob rest in peace. Prayers for you and your family

- Phyllis and Rick Walter, Parsippany, NJ

Words cannot express the sorrow we feel for you and your family. You were one of the most loving couples I know. Janet, I know all those memories will bring strength to you, Brian, Amy and Matthew. God Bless!

- Anne & Bob DeFalco, Freeland, PA

I am so very sorry for your loss. Bob was such a friend to us across the field at Marine Extension. I learned so much through my conversations with Bob as he problem solved for and with us. His deep well of patience and ability to make technologically difficult decisions guided me regularly. But, I will miss the twinkle in his eye and his broad smile most. My prayers are with all of you.

- Anne Lindsay, Savannah, GA

I am SHOCKED and SO VERY SORRY for the loss of such a great guy. My sincerest sympathies to his family and all that loved him. He was a childhood friend.

- Donna Maso, St Augustine, FL

My heart broke when I heard the news of Mr. Antonelli's passing. He was a wonderful man who always had a smile on his face and child-like enthusiasm when we would talk about astronomy or the ocean. He was a loving father, kind husband, dear friend to all, and will be missed terribly. My deepest condolences…Janet, Brian, Amy, and Matthew you are and will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

- Stephanie Smith, Atlanta, GA

Janet, Greg & I are sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. Even though we are a distance away, if there is anything we can do for you please call us at 570-788-6764. Take care of yourself.

- Greg & Rose McKinley, Drums, PA

My heart is broken for my aunt and cousins during this difficult time. My Uncle Bobby was one of the smartest, and talented men I ever knew. He was also the love of my aunts life. Seeing them together and experiencing their love for one another was like no other. Together they raised the most incredible, gifted and warm children anybody could ask for. My heart breaks for them and I send you peace and light during this difficult time. "Only the good die young"~Billy Joel

- Lia Bennett, niece, Wilmington, DE

You were taken away from me too soon. There were so many things that we were supposed to do. You were supposed to come up to north Georgia to go dirt bike riding with me like we always did growing up. You were supposed to help me with my new telescope you got me. I wanted to take you to Egypt with me on my next trip. Dad, everytime I look up at the stars or climb on a bike I will always think of you. Please, please come back to me. I need you.

- Brian Antonelli, Atlanta, GA

Bob was a friend and one of the most talented human being I had ever met. He will be missed at skidaway and by everyone .

- Neil mizell, Savannah, Ga

A month ago, I saw Bob's email referencing his 'last' project at SkIO before he retired. I congratulated him on his decision and I highly recommended retirement. He responded that he thought he was finally old enough to play golf with the old guys. Bob was a Renaissance man, as well informed and conversant about weather and astronomy and Harleys and a thousand other topics as about OS. Truly an unsung hero. From 3000 miles away, in my own retirement, I will miss him very much and I am so sorry for his untimely death and his family's loss.

- Debbie Jahnke, Port Townsend, WA

God chose one of the best flowers in his garden when he took Bob. He will forever be remembered as a magnificent husband and father. His wife and children were always first and foremost in his life. He will be with you in your hearts forever as he will be in ours. May God grant you peace and comfort at this sad time. Love, Sharon, Paul & Family

- The Kimock Family, Hazleton, PA

My sister's love of her life, wonderful father, uncle, friend. So many fun visits to Savannah. You are loved. You will be missed forever.

- Theresa and Dan Verbonitz, Freeland, Pa

I haven't been at Skidaway for very long, so my interactions with Bob were brief, but in that time he went out of his way to make me feel welcome and to make my transition to Skidaway easier. My thoughts are with the whole family.

- Elizabeth Harvey, Savannah, GA

My heart goes out to Bob's family. I am so sad and so very sorry for your loss and will miss Bob dearly. He was always there for us at the UGA Aquarium. What a guy! He never ceased to amaze me with his talents & hobbies, down to refurbishing old radios and creating knives and pens. Bob was full of well thought out, sound advice on so many issues. I'll miss his smile and our chats about life and family. I am so grateful to have known Bob.

- Stephanie Edgecombe, Savannah, GA

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I hope that you will take comfort in the fact that Bob touched many lives here on the Skidaway campus. It was not just savviness with technology that always impressed me, but that he was passionate about so many other things that obviously made his life so fulfilling. My thoughts are with you.

- Dodie Sanders, Savannah, GA

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Bob worked for me for many years at SKIO. His technical expertise in the information technology areas was exceptional, but it was his working knowledge of so many other fields that made him invaluable to me and to the institute. I especially enjoyed talking to him about our Corvettes, Mustangs and Harleys. I will greatly miss my friend.

- Marc Mascolo, Savannah , GA

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Bob has been a trusted advisor for me and a resource to everyone here at Skidaway. He will be sorely missed, not only for the level of expertise that he brought to his work, but also for his devotion and passion for supporting the research. I will miss him. I hope that your memories of him will comfort you in the coming days.

- Jim Sanders, Savannah, GA

My deepest sympathies for Bob's family on this very unhappy loss. Bob was a man with a wide range of interests and expertise, and he will be sorely missed here at Skidaway. I've already had several, 'I need to ask Bob about that' moments - those are going to continue for some time. Bob helped me out in research projects many times - he not only did his job, but was always interested in extra projects of scientific interest, like the weather station and his wonderful astronomy pictures. This early loss is very sad.

- Dana Savidge, Savannah, Ga

I am so sorry for the loss of such a nice man. I shared his interest in astronomy, and we would always share news of upcoming sky events. He was always eager to help me with any computer problem, here at work, and also at home. My heart hurts. I know he was excited about his upcoming retirement. My love goes out to his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

- Debbie Wells, Savannah, GA

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Bob. Please accept my deepest condolences. He was a great guy; I've worked with him the past 10 years at SkIO and I will miss him. He and I had good conversations and talked about our Mustangs and how we both enjoyed older cars. Sometimes we would even race either other for a minute or two when no one else was around. I will always remember that. I'm so glad I got to know him. May your memories and love comfort you during this time of grief, and I wish you peace during this difficult time. Sincerely, Lisa Doser

- Lisa Doser, Savannah, GA

Bob was a man of wide-ranging interests and skills. I enjoyed many of his stories and appreciated his advice on a myriad of projects during the years he worked at Skidaway. So sorry for this sudden and early departure.

- Trent Moore, Savannah, GA

I will remember Bob, not only as a helpful comrade, but as an inspiring astronomer who shared his talent with all.

- Jack Blanton , Savannah, GA

Bob was my cyber hero and a friend! His extreme patience with my lack of computer skills was unmatched and way beyond the call of duty. His avid interest in my scaled lab "critters" was a pleasure to share. I am so saddened by his passing and will miss him greatly! My sincere condolences to all of his family. I will keep y'all in my thoughts and prayers. Warmly, Crawfish

- John "Crawfish" Crawford, Isle of Hope, GA
