Kye Sun Ha

Kye Sun Ha, 90, of Fairview Heights, Illinois, passed away on November 30, 2015, at her residence. She was born on October 20, 1925, in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. She was very athletic as a child and played many sports during school. She grew up during the Japanese occupation of Korea and lived through the Korean War. After the Korean War, she owned a construction company and moved to Seoul. When she was 60, she moved to Savannah, Georgia to live closer to her two daughters and grandchildren. She had many friends in Savannah and was an active member of the Korean United Methodist Church.
In her later years, Kye Soon spent time between her daughters and grandchildren's homes in the South and the Midwest.
Surviving are her daughters, Wha Dong Cruz of Okatie, South Carolina; and Hui Tong Leohner of Fairview Heights, Illinois; son-in-law, Eric Leohner of Fairview Heights, Illinois; grandchildren, Luis Cruz and Sonia Cruz, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; Erica Leohner, of Madison, Wisconsin; and Lauren Leohner, of Urbana, Illinois.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 8, 2015 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
