Juanita Nesmith Hendrix Sumner
November 13, 1920 - December 11, 2015
Juanita Nesmith Hendrix Sumner, 95, passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at her residence. She was born in Bulloch County, Georgia November 13, 1920 to the late Morgan and Sally Nesmith. She was the youngest of 12 children. Juanita worked at Union Camp until she retired at the age of 62. Juanita was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary 184 for 17 years, active member of the Thunderbolt Senior Citizens and a member of Calvary Baptist Temple. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Hendrix, her late husband, Wallace “Whitie” Sumner and granddaughter Crystal Reenae Hendrix.
Surviving are her son, H.L. Scottie Hendrix, I and wife, Julie Wilder Hendrix, grandsons, H.L. Scottie Hendrix, II, John Cody Hendrix and daughter-in-law, Lynnette Hendrix.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
