Celebrating the life of
Lila Crout Kilpatrick
July 06, 1936 - January 05, 2016
Lila Crout Kilpatrick, 79, died at St. Joseph's Hospital surrounded by her daughters and family on January 5th, 2016. She was born in Edgefield, SC, and lived in Savannah for most of her life before moving to Richmond Hill, GA. Lila graduated from Draughn's Business College, and was employed until retirement at Thunderbolt Elementary School as Secretary. Her desk collected hundreds of school photos from the children she loved, whose hair she fixed, hurts she consoled, and triumphs she cheered. Lila was a Christ follower and active servant at First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill. She was a caretaker of all, and a diabetic lover of sweets. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Jack, whom she missed terribly.
She is survived by her adoring Outzs, Crout, Kilpatrick families, daughters Ann Taylor, Mary Kilpatrick, and Cheryl Pagan, and their families, including six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was Lila, Sister, Mama, Grandmama, and Meme, and will be missed fiercely. If you'd like to honor Lila, have a great cup of coffee or a piece of cake, and dig in the dirt. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to the Autism Society (www.autism-society.org).
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, January 8, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Frist Baptist Church of Richmond Hill. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

I am so sorry to hear of Lila's passing. I grew up with her girls on Utah St back in the 60's and 70's. I will never forget one of the rare times it snowed enought to stay on the ground and Lila came down to the house with a snowball. My mom, Helen Shuman, opened the front door just in time to get hit with it. Those were the good old days. You will be missed Lila. May u rest in peace and say hello to Jack. God bless and keep u in his arms for evermore.
