Christine L. Knorr Flathmann

Savannah- Christine L. Knorr Flathmann, 94, passed away Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Azalealand Nursing Home.

She was a native of Bristol, England, born February 5, 1922 to Herbert G. and Millicent S. Leslie. In 1954 they moved to Long Island, NY where Chris danced with the world famous Rockettes for over a year. She was a lifelong homemaker and after moving to Savannah Chris was very active with the many youth organizations her sons were involved with. She was a life member of the Georgia PTA, the A.W.V.S, the H.V. Jenkins High School Athletic Booster Club and a den mother with the Cub Scouts to name a few. She was a member of the Reformation Lutheran Church and after closing, she moved her membership to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Ascension. While at Ascension, she served in many capacities including teacher of Catechism and Lector. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, William (Bill) Knorr and William Flathmann, and her son, Kenneth Leslie Knorr.

Survivors include her son, Roger Knorr (Ginny); daughter-in-law, Nancy Knorr; grandchildren, Christy Miller (Jack), David Knorr, Michael Knorr, Meagan Parnell (Rhett), Patrick Knorr (Ashley), and five great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January, 29, 2016 at the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Azalealand Nursing Home and Hospice Savannah for the excellent care provided to Mrs. Flathmann.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that remembrances be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or Lutheran Church of the Ascension, 6 East State St., Savannah, GA 31401.
