Celebrating the life of
Bonnie Ballard
Passed away on February 09, 2016
SAVANNAH - Bonnie Moore Ballard passed away at her home on 9th. Born in 1945 she was raised as an only child on a small farm in Warrenton Virginia where she developed a love of animals and the outdoors. She held important positions in large firms in Washington D.C. and Dallas. On a vacation she came to Savannah and was so enamored of the city that she applied for positions here. Accepted by the Coastal Heritage Society in early 2002 she became a key member of the team that transformed the Georgia State Railroad Museum, Old Fort Jackson, and the Savannah History Museum, opened Pin Point Heritage Museum and developed the Savannah Children’s Museum. It was said “she was the glue that held the society together” in this exciting and productive time. She will be missed by all who have relied on her and who were touched by her. She is survived by several cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM at the Savannah Yacht Club Saturday February 13th.
Remembrances are suggested in lieu of flowers to the Coastal Heritage Society, 303 MLK Jr. Blvd, Savannah, GA, 31401 or an animal welfare organization of your choice.

Bonnie's face was always a cheerful welcome to the day or week. She made the workplace friendlier and I enjoyed knowing her. I appreciated her help with many random project details for which she was never too busy to assist. I am saddened to hear of her passing, but glad to have had a chance to know her. Wishing her friends and family peace.
