Dear Mrs. Carson, Katie, and Michael, I was so very sorry to hear about Roger's death. I enjoyed knowing him through church as a child, then as a youth helper when Katie was in high school, and then seeing him at the YMCA (back in the days before we moved to Uganda!) We also appreciated your family's support of our family during our time in Africa. He will be greatly missed and I wanted to let you know my prayers are with you all. May the Lord fill you with hope and comfort now and in the days ahead. Love, Mary Jane Dennison

Lawrence, Condolences to you and your family. I remember Roger as a funny, cheerful, guy that I met when you moved here and he was a City Planner and I was a stock broker. I was just shocked when I happened to pick up the paper and saw his obituary. I'm honored to have known him.

Dear Lawrence, We are so very sorry for your loss. Roger was so very kind to me as a city employee along with yout sweet son, Michael. Our sincere thoughts are with you during this very sad time. We send our love to you and your family

Lawrence please know that Roger touched a lot of people over his life. We worked together in the late 1980's as you know and it was a wonderful time. Roger was a very thoughtful person, always a smile on his face. He thought me a lot about being good to people. On special occasions he would always come up with the most thoughtful gift. He nicknamed me the King a long time ago and always referred to me that way. It became over the years a term of endearment. We all love you Roger.....your friend..the King!

Lawrence and family: I am saddened at the passing of Roger. He was one of the first City employees I worked with when I started in Leisure Services. I appreciated his frank discussions and opinions. After he left the City, I saw him on occasion, and he was always the same. Diana and I pray for God to send his comforting presence into your lives. May God Bless all of you this day and in days to come.

Lawrence and family, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Lawrence, Roger will be missed by all who knew him. The last time I saw Roger was at a lunch with Brian and Beth at the Crystal Beer Parlor. After lunch I had the wonderful pleasure of a few minutes with him alone when I drove him home. He spoke of life, you and the kids. Oh how he loved you. He never failed to say in person or in an email, that he was so lucky that you married him. Roger inspired me. His strength, courage in the face of the fight against cancer, never wavered. I will always remember him, and when in my own fight, he will be my cheerleader. He always ended his emails with "Life is a Gift." I will forever remember Roger. Rogers gift to me will be the memories, the laughter, his spirit, courage and inspiration. May God keep you and give you strength during this difficult time. Chantal Considine

Roger was one of a kind. Unique in every way. He was like that fun, playful uncle to my kids.... My last text conversation with Roger (2/18/16)...Roger: "Scans are good....walk 2 miles a day...... Lawrence is happy I am on the planet. Grandchild turned two, all boy, good parents. Katie is off to the D. Republic tomorrow, Michael just returned from skiing in N.Carolina. Lawrence was excited to receive a Linkin message from Brenna. Lawrence has been very good to me but I am concerned, health wise. I was very pleased to receive your vacation pictures. .. Is Bryan starting to fill out? It's only 3 semesters before Brenna graduates...wow time has past quickly." Me (Tim) in response: "We are all glad you are on this planet !!!!.....You are a great granddaddy. I am glad Brenna reached out to L. She is starting to grow up." That was Roger-always upbeat...the glass alway half-full. Fortunate, honored to call Roger my friend. His spirit will live on.

There are never sufficient words to express ones true feelings at a time like this; however know that my thoughts and prayers are with Roger. I'm proud to say that he was my close friend and mentor, for many years, in the Real Estate Appraisal Profession. His quick wit and dry humor were unique characteristics that we shared often. Lawrence, Michael and Katy, I pray God will grant you all the strength needed to cope with the your loss of your Husband and Father, Roger.

Lawrence, Michael, and Katy, I was so sorry to hear of Roger's passing. I mostly remember his impish grin and humor. The first time I met him was during a class at the Cultural Arts Center on Abercorn and Hall. Your mom was working late and he tried to make me laugh which would have cracked the mask I was making. Please know that all of you are in my thoughts and prayers. With sympathy, Barbara
