Robert Marshall Hooe, Sr.

Robert Marshall Hooe, Sr. 50, died Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Memorial University Medical Center. He was born in Washington, DC, son of Robert I. Hooe and Virginia Horton Hooe. Robert grew up the son of a military family traveling throughout the United States and abroad. Robert was living in Marietta, Georgia where he met his future wife, Donna Gerdes. They ultimately moved to Savannah in 2002. He worked for Historic Carriage Tours where he cared for the horses and performed general maintenance. Robert had been active in the local theater scene in Savannah and was an extra in the television series Drop Dead Diva and the movie Last Song. Robert was also known as a George W. Bush impersonator. He was a member of Richmond Hill Church of Christ.

Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Donna L. Hooe of Fleming; daughter, Marisa Hooe of Pooler; son, Robert M. Hooe, Jr. of Fleming; parents, Robert I. and Virginia Hooe of Woodstock; sister, Sheryl Puccio (John) of Woodstock and several niece and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Richmond Hill Church of Christ.

Robert was always in a good mood, always joking around, always made me smile. I'll cherish the chats we had just the two of us, when no one was around, just little moments like that. Not long before his last day at work, while awaiting his results, he told me that whatever happens he was okay with it, and I admired that. He was a caring, brave man.
