Robert "Bob" Emmett Simmons
Passed away on September 08, 2019
Robert E. "Bob" Simmons, 76, passed away on September 8th after a short illness. Born in Savannah, GA, he was a graduate of Benedictine Military School and the University of Georgia. He retired from Palmer and Cay and was a small business owner and author.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Arden Simmons, his brother Howard Simmons and children Julie Lambert, Therese Cook, Wendy Arbogast and Dale LaRose; 23 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Mary Simmons, and daughter, Dawn LaRose.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family on Tybee Island and meeting monthly with the “BC Boys”.
In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Benedictine Military School.
Artie, I am so sorry to hear of Robbie’s sudden passing. Jack always had such fond things to say of him after each of the “ BC Boys “ monthly get togethers at Johnny Harris’ . His presence livened up the guys and made special memories for Jack. I will keep you in my prayers. May God give you comfort in the days ahead.

Arty and family. I was sad to learn of Bob’s passing this week. I knew Bob as a boss, coworker, and best, a friend. Bob was respected for his professional contributions to the safety field and to me, an incredible mentor who was always free with advice and encouragement. Please know that your family is in my thoughts.

Robbie was a dear friend for over 60 years. We first met and shared many experiences with Benedictine brothers over these many years. Mostly we enjoyed good times and great fun.. Robbie was always full of life and brought smiles to all almost every day. In recent years, we shared our experiences at reunions and at monthly “BC Boys” dinner. Robbie never failed to leave us laughing at our good fortune. He was a wonderful friend and will sorely missed by his BC brothers. Our most gracious condolences to Arde and his family.
