Celebrating the life of

Constance Mae Fletcher Weathers

May 26, 1924 - March 22, 2016

Constance Mae Fletcher Weathers

SAVANNAH - Constance Mae (Fletcher) Weathers, 91, of Savannah, Georgia passed peacefully at her home on Tuesday March 22, 2016.  Connie was born on May 26, 1924 in Boston, Massachusetts to Thomas and Jessica Mae Fletcher.  She graduated from Saugus High School, Saugus, Massachusetts.  Connie later married James Howard (Stormy) Weathers, U.S. Navy, until his passing in 2000 and she had six children who resided in Savannah.  Connie worked in retail at Levy's Department Store on Broughton Street and at Byrd’s Supermarket in Savannah for over 20 years. Later she became a caregiver to many families throughout the Savannah area.

Connie better known as "Savannah Nana" had many passions in life.  Her passion for people not only became a vocation but exceeded expectations.  Her gift of caring and teaching extended to family and friends as she was a nanny to many local families.  She also crocheted afghans for families, friends, and their newborn babies. To this day over one hundred children are sleeping cuddled up to one of Nana's blankets.  Savannah Nana had another strong passion and that was watching the Atlanta Braves with her son in-law Mike Green Sr. She knew every member of the Braves team and was adamant about watching them on opening day every year.

Savannah Nana was most proud of her family, and she loved to visit her daughters, son, and many grandchildren. She is survived by six children, Christine Lee Green (Mike), Donna Louise Fox Rotureau, Karen June Caldwell, James Alan Weathers (Betsy), Crystal Ann Sauls (Eddy), and Charise Yvonne Kicklighter. Connie had twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held Monday March 28th with a 9am viewing followed by a 10am funeral service at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Memorial Chapel in Savannah and burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her name to one of her favorite charities. GRRR - Georgia Rescue Rehab and Relocation (dog rescue) 3 Anglers Court Savannah 31411, Gentiva Hospice Savannah whose staff we can’t thank enough for their excellent service and medical support or to the Salvation Army Savannah.

Claude has know Connie for many, many years. Lisa has known her for a little over 12 years. Connie was a joy to be around, always laughing and talking about her adventures with Frances Perkins. Her knowledge of baseball was amazing! A person that departs from this earth never truly leaves, for they are still alive in our hearts and minds, through us, they live on. Please accept our condolences, she will not be forgotten. We loved her dearly.
