Gary Alan Jackson

Gary Alan Jackson, 57, passed away March 21, 2016. Gary was a life-long resident of Savannah, a graduate of H.V. Jenkins High School and attended Armstrong State University. He was the office manager of Brown Arrowhead Clinics, southeast division, for over twenty years. As a member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, Gary was involved with the youth groups and often drove the van for their excursions. He helped with the sound and lighting for church services and was a life member of Good Sam’s Club, an international organization of recreational vehicle owners. Gary was preceded in death by his father, Robert L. Jackson, III, brother, Steve Jackson and maternal grandparents, Frank and Evelyn English.

Surviving are his mother, Betty English Richards, step-father, Glaen Richards, Sr., step-brother, Glaen Richards, Jr., step-sister, Nella Vaquer, long-time friend, Roger Smith, uncle, Robert L. English, Jr. and godchildren, Jackson, Grier and Davis Hogan.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

When I moved several years ago, Roger and Gary stopped by around dusk to check in on me. I was talking to Roger and realized Gary was digging through boxes, many many boxes.
