Savannah- Mrs. Willie Beatrice Dossey passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at her home in Savannah, Georgia, at 95 years of age.

Mrs. Dossey was born and grew up in Denton, Texas, daughter of Fred T. and Mae Kelsay. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University in Denton and became a teacher. She began her teaching career in Cotulla, Texas, where she met the love of her life, Don E. Dossey. He became a pilot in the Army Air Corp, and they married before World War II. As a military officer’s wife, she travelled and lived around the world for 30 years. During her life on various military bases, she was a teacher of music and 3rd grade elementary students. She was a Master Bridge Player, and after she and her husband retired in 1972, she became a member of several women’s clubs in Savannah. Mrs. Dossey was a philanthropist and supported the American Cancer Society and American Diabetes Association. Mrs. Dossey was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Don E. Dossey (Ret.); a sister, Mrs. Frances Kirby; a brother, Fred T. Kelsay, Jr.; and a grandson, Jeremy T. Dossey.

She is survived by her son, Don E. Dossey, Jr. and his wife, Helena, of Denton, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Marie Marshall of Crosbyton, Texas; grandson, Paul W. Dossey and great-granddaughter, Avery J. Dossey of Denton, Texas; as well as many nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Burial will be at the National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas.
