Her smile was best when she was surrounded by her family.

Marion Williams Swinford, 89, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2016 at Memorial University Medical Center. The lifelong resident of Savannah retired as a secretary from Kaiser Chemicals after many years of service.  She was a former member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher and a leader of the Sunshine Club.  Currently, she was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Swinford loved to fish, garden, sew and cook.  Her smile was best when she was surrounded by her family.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas R. Swinford, Jr. and sister, Mary Lou Purvis.

Surviving are two sons, Thomas R. Swinford, III (Kathy), Michael L. Swinford (Jane) all of Savannah; grandchildren, Meredith Swinford, Erica Mixon, Scott Swinford and several great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2016 at White Bluff United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. John Haney.

Interment will follow in Bonaventure Cemetery.

Remembrances may be made in memory of Marion Swinford to the White Bluff United Methodist Church Endowment Fund, 11911 White Bluff Rd., Savannah, GA 31419.
