Celebrating the life of

Conner Scott Shortridge

December 01, 1996 - April 03, 2016

Conner Scott Shortridge

Our beloved Conner Scott Shortridge went to be with the Lord on April 3, 2016, in Los Angeles, California. Born in Orlando, Florida on December 1, 1996, he is survived by his parents, Mr. Scott Shortridge and Mrs. Reina Wentz both of Savannah, Georgia; sister, Ms. Alejandra Shortridge of Savannah, Georgia; grandmother, Ms. Maria Encarnacion Seren Galo of Honduras; Stepfather, Mr. Robert Wentz of Savannah, Georgia; Aunts Beth Phillips and Sue Jansen, Uncle Tim Shortridge and cousins. Conner was dearly loved by all those who knew him. A recent graduate of Richmond Hill High School, Conner excelled as a student and athlete. During his tenure in high school, he participated in cross county, ROTC Raiders and art activities. Conner was an aspiring student of art, music, and philosophy. His compassion for people less fortunate brought him joy and inspired him to serve in several local ministries. Passionate in all that he did, Conner believed in helping those around him to believe in themselves. This service ethic continued as Conner went off to Los Angeles, where he attended Promises Drug Addiction Treatment Center over the past nine months. A devoted student and friend, he excelled in his calling as an artist and singer, but it was his love of the Lord that deepened his satisfaction of serving others. Conner was a Christian. He believed in and studied the Bible with his mother. He and his father had many long discussions about philosophy and science up to the time he went to LA.  His mother sent him a Bible and Devotional which he shared scriptures daily with his close friends. At the young age of 19, he knew that his purpose in life was to love and be of service to others in need. Conner shared a Christian home with his mother and stepfather, and as members of Savannah Christian Church attended a local mission and volunteered at the Lighthouse Ministry. Conner had an ability to light up a room with his sense of humor and love of life. Ale, his older sister, always knew that he felt he was her protector and third parent. No matter how far apart they lived, when they were together, they picked up where they left off, as their bond was deep.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 23, from 10:30 – 11:30 A.M. immediately following will be a memorial service beginning at 11:30 A.M. at Savannah Christian Church, located at 55 Al Henderson Boulevard. The family will hold an internment immediately following the service at Hillcrest Abby West Cemetery, located on 1336 Dean Forest Road, Savannah, Georgia. Friends of the family are invited.

Pallbearers: Luis Venegas, Josh Sams, Andy Beauchamp, Jeff Jansen, Josh Rials, Sean Rice

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that remembrances be made to Conner Shortridge; Savannah Christian Church; 55 Al Henderson Boulevard, Savannah, Georgia 31419, PH: (912) 925-9697.

Conner, it's so hard to accept that you won't be here physically. It's so heartbreaking to see your family in pain but we trust that God's plan is better and His name will be glorified. God will continue working through you Conner. I haven't seen you in a long time, but the memories that I have of you remain in my heart. I remember the vacations in OKC, you were so playful, sweet, loving and stubborn...the cutest little boy ever always asking my mom for Honduran spaghetti. The bond you had with Ale was so special, even from a young age. You are already missed and can't imagine how difficult the upcoming days, weeks, months and years will be for the family but my family and friends continue praying for all of you. We pray that Reina, Ale, Scott and Rob continue with that peace that trascends all understanding, that peace and joy that come from our savior, Jesus Christ. Love you, Erika
