Celebrating the life of
Naomi Leckvarcik Marky
Passed away on April 12, 2016
SAVANNAH - Naomi Leckvarcik Marky, 77, our beloved sister, mother and grandmother, died Tuesday doing what she loved, playing golf with her friends.
She was born in May 1938 in Cleveland, OH and lived outside Philadelphia, PA while raising her family and teaching full-time. Naomi was passionate about golf, and more importantly, the many dear friends the game brought into her life. She played multiple rounds per week, many of them with the same ball until she literally wore the cover down. She hit it straight down the middle every time. She was an accomplished chef and baker, whose unique and special cookies were anxiously anticipated and shared with everyone around her during the Christmas season. She loved traveling with her family and friends, taking many trips across the country and the world.
She taught business education to high school students and was a master of the long lost art of short hand. She pushed her students hard and loved to see them succeed. She retired from teaching at the age of 51 and moved to Savannah and enjoyed 24 years of retirement with her beloved husband of 53 years, Ronald L Marky, who passed away before her in November, 2015.
She was predeceased by her father George Leckvarcik, her mother Anna Straka and her younger brother David Leckvarcik.
She is survived by her sons David (Diane) of Wilmington, DE and Russell (Heidi) of Charlotte, NC; 4 grandchildren, Christopher, Caitlin, Jackson and Cameron; her brother Daniel (Cindy) Leckvarcik and her sister-in-law Frances Marky; 8 nieces and one nephew.
The family will be mourning privately.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, April 16 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at The Landings Club - The Plantation club house.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the USO (www.uso.org/donate) or The Landings Military Family Relief Fund (https://www.facebook.com/Landings-Military-Family-Relief-Fund-LMFRF)
We are so sorry for your compounded loss. Even though we all know it's possible, It's hard to believe it when you are experiencing such life altering events so close together. We loved reading about your moms love of golf and it seems she was probably where she wanted to be-on the golf course. Let us know if you need anything. Jeanne and Paul

Dick and I spent many lovely evenings for supper etc with your parents years ago at The landings. Dick was a member of you Dad's golf group. Naomi created wonderful meals...and she was SO proud of her sons and their families. She was a good friend and I'll miss her. God Bless. Carolyn Wilson
