Gene C. Presley

August 14, 1929 - May 09, 2016

Gene C. Presley

SAVANNAH - Gene C. Presley, 86, died Monday, May 9, 2016, under the care of Hospice Savannah. He was born August 29, 1929, in Dublin, GA, the son of Roy C. and Ivy Dell Presley, brother of Maroy Tilton and the late Fain T. Presley. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Wanda Joyce, a daughter Gina (John McCall) and son Jeff (Maranda) - three granddaughters, Lexi, Adrian and Maggie. His family moved to Savannah when he was 12 years old and after finishing school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served 4 years. He returned to Savannah and started an upholstery business, Presley's Auto Trim, where he worked until retiring six years ago. He was a lifetime member of the Alee Temple Mobile Classics Unit and in his younger years enjoyed riding mini-bikes and dune buggies in the parades. But his biggest joy and accomplishment was his family whom he loved dearly and spent much time with.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 13, from 10:00 - 11:00 am and funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home, Islands Chapel. Entombment will be in the Hillcrest Abbey East Mausoleum.

Gene will be missed. I remember the times when he and Fain would come to visit us on the farm. I remember when Gene was in the Navy he gave me a picture of him in uniform, I told the girls at school that he was my boyfriend.
