Mrs. Betty Louise Ard- Winter age 77 of Acworth, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at home after a long battle surrounded by her family. Born in Savannah, Georgia to George and Lucille Barnard. Mrs. Ard-Winter was the Budget Director for the Mental Health Department for the State of Georgia. She was director over Georgia Regional and many other facilities in Savannah.  She was one of the founding members of the Brookstone Golf and Country Club in Acworth. She had a true passion for golf and was the first president of the LGA. Her love of golf was carried with two lady championships at Brookstone Country Club. She has her private ladies group that did everything from trips to having poker nights. She was proceeded in death by George Winter.

She is survived by two sons, Delano Ard of Acworth, GA and Greg Ard of Acworth, GA; ex-daughter-in- law Sue Gray of Acworth, GA; grandsons, Alex Ard and Ben Ard both of Acworth, GA.

Funeral Service will at Immanuel Baptist Church, 7375 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah,  2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2016. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
