Celebrating the life of
Anne Jacobs LaCour
October 31, 1926 - June 03, 2016
A tireless provider to many.
Anne Jacobs LaCour
Born in Buffalo N.Y. October 31, 1926, Georgia Anne Jacobs LaCour, along with her parents and siblings soon headed south, landing on Tybee Island; where she called home for more than 78 years. The oldest of six, Annie was a born leader, the matriarch of not only her own family, but most of her friends’ too! Annie dedicated her entire life to being a devoted mother, a caretaker, and a tireless provider to many. A practicing nurse for more than 50 years, this woman was the best damn nurse one could ever know! Annie also taught a variety of nursing classes throughout Georgia.
Annie follows two brothers, David and Jake Jacobs, two sisters, Barbara Voigt and Ruthie Tamosaitis, two husbands, and her beloved son, Steve Roberts.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Dianne Turbin of Dousman, Wisconsin; youngest brother, Mikey Jacobs of Midway, Georgia; her three grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, along with her many many friends, past co-workers, and more! Fly high Do-Dad, you will forever be held dear to us all!
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Remembrances may be made to the Tybee Island Maritime Academy, P.O. Box 1519, Tybee Island, GA 31328,

I'm so sorry for the family's loss. Annie was a great lady. She was very kind to me as a kid and working together she taught me more than she'll ever know. I've loved her family most of my life. My heart goes out to all who loved her and I know she will be sorely missed. Much love and hugs Chelsey and Ambeur. I watched her love you guys for many many years. Always could count on Annie. Called her Grump as a child because she disciplined us. She helped us to grow up strong and fair. A dear friend to my mother. WE will all miss you Grump. My love to all in the family
- Sonny Corbin, Ellabell, Ga.
She was my mother's dearest friend. The person she could always count on in a time of need. She will always be loved and remembered by the Corbin family as part of the family. Love you Annie.

My deepest sympathies to the Jacobs family. If Anne was anything at all like my Aunt Ruta, she was a helluva gal! All of my love to Danny, Julie, Teri and my Rachael.

R.I.P. to one of the strongest, caring, and most admirable women I've ever met. My heart goes out to you Chelsey and the rest of your family. Just know she'll always be there watching over you.

R.I.P. dear, sweet one. I will never forget your many kindnesses (and when needed tough love) to my late mother, Elizabeth Solomons Griffin, during my mother's time at Oceanside Nursing Home at Tybee. May family and friends, especially Chelsea, Chelsea's husband and precious little one, the rest of her family, community, find solace in knowing Annie's was a life well lived with so much love freely shown to all who knew her.
- Martha Griffin Walsh, Tybee Island, Ga.
Sincere sympathy from the family of the late Roland B. Jones.
