Iris Williams Hinely

Iris Williams Hinely, 87, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Hospice Savannah, Inc. She was born in Wilmington, North Carolina, daughter of William H. and Glennie Quinn Williams. Mrs. Hinely lived in Savannah for over 50 years and was a homemaker. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women’s Society, Savannah Chapter 52 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Flag Unit Auxiliary, Bryan County Shrine Club Auxiliary, Tybee Light Shrine Club Auxiliary, Ladies Oriental Shrine of North American and Ala Oba. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph H. Williams and sister, Betty A. Moody.
Surviving are her husband of 68 years, John D. Hinely of Savannah; daughters, Jo Beth Fuller (Steve) of Savannah; Pamela Waters (Jim) of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren, Brett Waters, Dustin Allen, Troy Allen, three great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and former son-in-law, Jackie D. Allen of Savannah.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at Grace United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Steve R. Purnell.
Pallbearers will be Ian Dauphinee, Jackey Nease, Tommy Clark, Jerry Hendrix, John Biggerstaff, Mark Eichenlaub, Lou Dean Hinely and Frank Darden.
Entombment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Remembrances may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 6412 Waters Ave., Savannah, GA 31406 or to the Office of Development, Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.

It had been too many years since we last met and it was good to talk about old times. I am truly sorry that we cannot do this again. Next time we are in Savannah, we will stop and see John.
