Marilyn G. Hamilton

Passed away on September 17, 2019

Marilyn G. Hamilton

Marilyn Glenell (Jones) Hamilton, 91 years of Savannah, GA passed away on September 17, 2019. Marilyn was born February 22, 1928 to Delbert and Janet Young and was raised in New Marshfield, Ohio. She grew up, graduated from high school and worked at McBees. She lived in the area until she met the love of her life, Lewis, and they moved to Middletown, Ohio where they lived from 1950 to 2013 before retiring to Savannah, GA to be near their grandson, Coley. Marilyn was involved in many things. She was a loyal Sunday School teacher and belonged for many years to the First Christian Church in Middletown. She loved golf at Wildwood Country Club. Teeing off for ladies day every Tuesday and as many other days a week she had time for! She and Lew went to many Masters Tournaments throughout the years which she loved! She was the most loyal Cincinnati Reds baseball fan. They held season tickets for 45 years and she never left a game early, because “you never know they could win in the last inning!” More than anything she loved her family. It was with great joy that she spent her last 6 years close to her grandson to see him grow up.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Janet and father Delbert Young and step-father, Silas (Coley) Sharp. Her brother, Norville, also preceded her.

She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Lew. Her daughter, Lisa (Hamilton) Brown and her husband, Rick, her son Jeffrey Hamilton, daughter-in-law, Paula Swart and grandson Coley Hamilton. Private services were held for the family. Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to Senior Citizens Inc, (501(c)) organization in Savannah, GA or to Savannah Hospice in her name.
