We are sorry to hear of Lukie passing, but glad to know he has a new body and mind in heaven with his Lord and Savior. We will see him again and celebrate the time Luke and Dan finished top 128 in men's doubles cricket in Las Vegas. Lukie would have probably won if he had a decent partner.

- Dan & Diane Frailey, Guyton, GA

My condolences to The Sims Family. Luke and I played for the Panthers when his dad was coaching. I used to see him at union account when I was working there and going to school. We've been out of touch for years but I'll always remember Luke's upbeat personality. He was truly one of the good guys. Joseph Sims Savannah Georgia.

Very fortunate to have known and enjoyed a friendship with Luke since I was a young boy. His friendship with my father turned into a friendship with me. I worked with Luke for 23 years at Union Camp in the same Division. He had a saying"I work to break" meaning he never left a job on the table, when he did get a break "it was coffee and fellowship with the guys". Linda, Luke also provided me with meaningful guidance as a young man that even today I rely upon as one of the factors that lifted my life. Very sorry for your loss.

- Randall Curry, Savannah, GA

Linda, I am so sorry to hear about Luke's passing. A great guy and well thought of by anyone that knew him. I went to SHS, so played ball against him, but then we played softball together after we finished school. Great memories. I will keep you and your family in my prayers. Focus on all the great memories and fun times you had together and as a family. God Bless, Royce Exley

So sorry for your loss. I remember Luke so well. Good man. He will be truly missed. Miss you all. Love to all. Grace.

- Grace Powell Harper, Fredericksburg, Va,

At the age of 88, I was lucky enough to know Luke's father as well as Luke. I played many a round of golf with Luke at Mary Calder and always enjoyed his company. He was indeed a devout Christian, as I am, and that kind of bonded us. I have missed Luke since he had to give up golf, but I will NEVER forget him. I lost my wife 7 years ago, so I am aware of your feelings. So keep the faith and God will help you to get thru your grief

- Bill Hughes, Savannah, Ga

Dear Linda, family, classmates & friends, We were saddened to hear of Luke’s passing. Our heartfelt condolences. You are home now with the father in heaven. The memories of the many good years shared with Luke during our formative years at St James & Benedictine are in my heart. I know that our times together on the football team were some of my fondest memories. We were quite the team to be reckoned with…..the summer camps when it was so hot in August in the armory, the road trips out of town to places like Augusta, Miami,Jessop some fun times. You were an awesome star running back and an integral part of Coach Mell’s plan…. we had some wonderful teachers like him, Charlie Moore, Harry Deal, Mr Downing, Sgt. McKinney and of course with affection “Monkey” Albert Lodge and (that sweet smelling stuff he had in his bucket …..when he would wipe the towel across our faces it was so invigorating), Father Brendan, Fr. Damien, Fr. Aloysius, Fr Bede and the infamous Fr Algonquin (the enforcer / disciplinarian). That part of our lives shaped us into fine young men and good citizens of the world. Thank you for being a part of those wonderful memories. You are a good man Luke Sims & I will miss you. Rest in Peace my friend. Chester Nielubowicz BC62’
