Johnsie Robinson Magee

Johnsie Robinson Magee, born May 6, 1929 in Savannah, GA, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016 while in the care of Hospice Savannah. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joseph Magee, Jr. and her parents, Constantine and Johnsie Chandler Robinson.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Christopher Magee (Mary), of Chattanooga, TN, two daughters, Connie Magee Williams (Mike), and Cathy Magee McBrayer (Phillip), both of Savannah, GA, five grandchildren, April Hall, Scott Williams, Emily Christian, Matthew McBrayer, and Meredith Haynes. Also six great-granchildren, Dublin McBrayer, Dylan McBrayer, Katie Bullock, IsaBelle Christian, Autumn Hall, and Hollis Hall, several nieces, and one nephew.
Johnsie was born and resided in Savannah, GA all of her life. She and her husband owned several successful businesses together, ultimately Magee’s Wallcoverings. She loved living on the water. She was a Water Safety Instructor and taught hundreds of Savannah children to swim. An accomplished artist her love of the water inspired her to paint beautiful seascapes. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Friday, August 19, 2016 at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.
Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.
Johnsie had a great love for animals, especially cats. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Savannah, or to Hospice Savannah.
