Josie, John Jr., Steve and Suzie: I was sorry to hear of your loss. You have my condolences and those of my family. John and Josie were always great neighbors and Kent Court is not the same since they moved away. John, Jr. was one of my best friends in Scouting, high school and at Georgia Tech. I know John and I looked up to his dad with a lot of admiration and respect, his having made it through Georgia Tech (as we worked our way through), his passing the PE exam on his first try (with no preparation), his accomplishments with Savannah Electric and his faith. We were fortunate to have wonderful fathers. The Spivey family have been special friends to me and my family.

I would like to give my condolences to Mr.John’s family. Thanks to our loving God , we have many wonderful promises for our future that are recorded in his Word. Remember Isaiah 33:24 where he assures us, “ And no resident will say, ‘I am sick.’” May this heartwarming thought help you all to keep enduring and eagerly awaiting the day you are reunited with your loved one who will be in perfect health.

From my early childhood, almost eighty years of life, John remained on the pedestal of being my hero and idol. Even so, he was an immeasurable distant second in regards, to my Prophet, Priest, and King the Lord Jesus Christ. I am so thankful that John also knew the Lord. There is so much comfort in knowing a deceased person's soul is with Christ in glory for the Scripture states "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord," (2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV). John, I'll never forget you. Thank you for being what you were to me in life. Josie and family may the Comforter reign in your soul in these hours of separation
