Margaret P. Parham, 91, passed away on October 5, 2016 after a short illness. She was born in Columbus, Georgia on November 12, 1924 to the late Dupont and Myrtie Perry. Margaret was a 60 year resident of Isle of Hope and was a member of the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. She was active in the church and was a church administrative volunteer and member of the church “Sparklers” group for many years. She loved her yearly preparation for the church’s Day on the Island bazaar and was especially good at fashioning hand-made arts and crafts that were sold for charity. She was a Candler Hospital “Pink Lady” volunteer for over thirty years and was always ready to lend friendly assistance to staff, patients and family members.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Edwin Parham and her sister Jeanne. Survivors include her daughter Carol P. Downing (Cary) of Savannah and her son Thomas Edwin Parham, Jr. (Rhonda) of Midway, Georgia. Her grandchildren include Stephen Perry Downing (April), Christopher McMillan Downing (Bailey), Daniel Clemmons and Andrea Powell.

Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2016 at Fox & weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Remembrances may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Savannah.
