I had the honor to not only work alongside Dr. Wilkowski for the past 14 years, but to also share a wonderful friendship with her. She was a brilliant, skilled, and caring Anesthesiologist whose ethics and safety were superb. Her legacy will live on in all those she trained. I will forever miss her captivating stories, warm bear hugs, and the way she would light up a room. My heart is broken for the loss of such an amazing spouse, mom, sister, doctor, and friend. I pray comfort for her family and peace that only the Lord can provide at such a time as this.

- Allison Benson, Savannah, GA

I graduated high school with Debbie and had many classes with her. In Minneapolis, we met up again and socialized. She never changed and I recognize her still from all the posts. Always an over-achiever and I was awed by her brains and athletic abilities. She was so funny too. Over the years I often wondered what she was doing, where she 'landed'. I'm sure she was an amazing Mother and a giver to the community. Blessings to her family and sisters. Gwen

- Gwen Carlson Takala, Santa Fe, NM

Our hearts ache for the loss of Debbie. She was an extraordinary woman with an amazing intellect and wit, big heart and love of life. Her enthusiasm was contagious....each time we said goodbye after one of our many shared adventures, we were already planning the next! We will both miss her dearly. One memory of Debbie that we will always hold dear is sitting together around a Jekyll Island campfire under a full moon last winter....she was pragmatic and articulate in exploring solutions to world problems....and later her eyes welling with tears as she talked with pride and love for Mike and her daughters. She cared deeply about many people and causes, and she worked hard to make life better for countless people whose lives she touched with her healing hands and compassion. I pray for healing for your family and that you will still hear her hearty laugh as you remember her, as we do. Sending peace and love, Janet and Keith

Michael. Heartfelt condolences to you and your girls. I enjoyed getting to know her as part of South AA School guest faculty. She will be missed.

- , Claude & Susan Su,

We send prayers and love to you and your family. We are friends of Micah and Claire who had the privilege of spending a night in your beautiful home this spring. In that time we spent with Debbie she taught us how to play bocce ball, how to dance the Texas-two-step, and schooled us at ping pong. We were taken for a ride with the top down and had a lovely sit down breakfast together. We are grateful for that little time we had with her. With greatest sympathy.

- Steve and Erin Baltes, Plymouth, MN

May your family find the piece uou in need in each other and your faith. I did not personally know your mother, but I met her through the Dwain E. Ball Golf Tournament at St. Andrews. I was personal friends with the Balls and I worked for their company for about 25 years. Your mother was a very pleasure and beautiful woman and will certainly be missed by all. God bless you.

- Pat Aldrich Bragg Sallette , Richmond Hill , Georgia

I am really shocked and shaken up by this terrible tragedy. Deb reached out to me and several other people and really helped us all when we needed help, assistance, anything... I can't believe that this happened. She was a terrific mother and a phenomenal doctor. Her advice was the best that I have ever heard. She was so great and so intelligent. The world and our community has lost so much. But I just hope that she is at peace. If the family needs anything, I am here, but I will keep them in my thoughts. I can't imagine losing a great mother like her. She told the best and most entertaining stories. I'm sorry for everyone's loss, especially her family, close friends, and former co workers & colleagues. Love and support for you all.

- Peggy Cole, Savannah , Ga

I REMBER DEBBIE'S SMILING FACE ON THE CBTC'S SATURDAY RIDES. MY SINCERE CONDOLENCES TO HER FAMILY AT THEIR LOSS.

- ED DUNN, RINCON, GA

What an awful shock it was to hear about Debbie. We have known her for more than 30 years, although, unfortunately, we had only seen her sporadically over the past couple of decades. We had a lovely visit with Debbie and Mike in Savannah a few years ago, and they were such gracious hosts, taking us to the St. Patrick's Day Parade and showing us the city. Debbie was such a gregarious, upbeat person, and it was always just fun to be around her. She certainly had strong opinions, but even if one disagreed with her, it was impossible to be mad at her. When last we saw her, she made us laugh by saying that she was mistakenly born in northern Minnesota and should have been a Savannah-ite her entire life, which obviously showed her love for her adopted city. She truly was a bright light, and we will miss her. Our deep condolences to Mike and their daughters at this sad time.

- Andrew and Vicki Silberman, Minneapolis, MN

- Milly Bouy, Savannah, Ga

Dear Mike, Grace, Mary and Rose, What a shock. Words just don't suffice and I can't fathom the reality. Our families were friends in Winnipeg and we shared wonderful times and vacations. I will always remember Debbie and am thankful for visits from one side of the Atlantic to the other and especially the great conversations we had. Herm, Amsterdam, the Netherlands

My first encounter with Deb was when Rose was my student in 5th grade. Deb became a volunteer in our classroom I looked forward to her weekly visits not only for her invaluable help but for the stimulating discussions on education. Deb was always interested in my own family and shared wonderful insights of her 3 beautiful daughters. I loved to hear news of the girls and what they were up to. Deb and Mike raised wonderful daughters and contributed to our community in numerous ways. Debs love of life will be missed by many
