Rosemary Cureton Kilpatrick

SAVANNAH - Rosemary Cureton Kilpatrick of Savannah, GA, died at home Wednesday surrounded by her beloved husband Charles M. Kilpatrick, Sr., and their two loving sons Charles M. Kilpatrick, Jr., and Walter Scott Kilpatrick and his wife, Veronica Morton Kilpatrick, all of Savannah.

Born April 2, 1941, in Lake City, Tennessee, to the late Walter and Estelle Cureton into a family of two brothers (the late William Walter Cureton and the late Walter Ryan Cureton) and a surviving sister Cornelia Ann Cureton Keahey (married to John Keahey).  Rosemary was born a coalminer’s daughter with a beautiful smile, who later grew up in Bridgeport and Guntersville, Alabama. A 1958 graduate of Marshall County High School and a 1962 graduate of David Lipscomb College with a degree in business, she is also survived by three grandchildren, Lia Aislin Kilpatrick, Flynn Mathews Kilpatrick, and Ledger Scott Kilpatrick, plus nieces and nephews.

A faithful member of St. Francis of the Islands Episcopal Church of Savannah on Wilmington Island, her burial service will take place there Monday, October 31, at 11 a.m. There will be a visitation reception following the service in the parish hall and a graveside committal in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made in her name to St. Francis of the Islands, 590 Walthour Rd, Savannah GA 31410.

The family also extends thanks to Spanish Oaks Hospice, especially to Colby Aimar and Dianne Hall, and to our church family and special “angel” Kathy Pearson.

Dear Charlie, Charles and Scott, I was so sad to hear about Rosemary. I didn't realize that she had been sick, and I am so sorry for your dear loss. Rosemary was always fun, and I always loved her smile and laugh. I want you to know that I am thinking about all of you and praying for you. My prayer is that your Faith and your wonderful, happy memories will comfort and sustain you always. Much love to each of you, Jan

Charlie, Charles & Scott, Rosemary was one of a kind. What a great time we had on Country Club Drive watching everybody grow up. She was a damn fine crew, a good mother and a loyal loving wife; hard to beat that combo. I'm quite sure she is on starboard tack, hiking out looking around to see how far back Neffus is. You've got the right away Rosemary; you are free to cross. Neff McIntosh
