Arthur Lawrence Rourke, Jr.

SAVANNAH – Arthur Lawrence Rourke, Jr., 74, died Monday, November 21, 2016, at his residence.
Born July 21, 1942 in Savannah, he was the son of the late Arthur Lawrence and Veronica Dillon Rourke. Raised in the Catholic Church, Arthur was a 1960 graduate of Benedictine Military School. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5588, the Hibernian Society, and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee where he was a longtime member of the Adjutant’s Staff. Arthur retired from Union Camp Corp. after many years of service.
Surviving are his beloved sister, Mary Anne R. Hornkohl; several dear cousins; many friends; and his devoted caregiver, Mrs. Eileen Holcomb.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 23, from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A Rosary Service will be held at 6:00 pm. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances be made to Benedictine Military School, 6502 Seawright Dr., Savannah, GA 31406 or Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
