Charles L. McCord, Jr., 58 passed away under the care of Halcyon Hospice in Atlanta.
He was born May 19, 1958 in Savannah, Georgia to Charles L. McCord, Sr. and Hilda Daughtry McCord. He lived in the Atlanta area most of his adult life. He was employed in the Air Conditioning industry for many years before attending The University of Georgia where he received a degree in Computer Science. He was employed in the IT industry as a UNIX systems engineer. He loved the coast and was an avid fisherman.
He is preceded in death by his mother Hilda Daughtry McCord. He is survived by his wife Barbara McCord, his children, Caroline, Mac, and Mitchell McCord all of Atlanta; father, Charles McCord, Sr. of Midway; sister Ginger Thompson of Glennville; nephews David (Jennifer) and Trey Thompson of Statesboro.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 10 - 11 with funeral services to follow at 11 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, in Savannah, GA.
Pallbearers will be Ted Migchelbrink, John Drawdy, Mike Ward, Mac McCord, Delaney Daughtry, and Trey Thompson, and Honorary Pallbearer Mitchell McCord.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully encourages that memorial contributions be made to The American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
To the family of Charles McCord I went to high school with Charlie and am saddened at your loss! He was always a gentleman and very thoughtful young man. Peace be with you all!
