Celebrating the life of

Rose Mary Ward

November 11, 1933 - October 09, 2019

Rose Mary Ward

Rose Mary Ward, 85, died on October 9, 2019 at Candler Hospital. Born on November 11, 1933 in Johnstown, PA, she grew up in Canton, Ohio.

That’s where she met and married her husband, Bob, in 1954. They met at the local skating rink where she and her siblings spent most weekends.

She moved to Castle Air Force Base in California, where she had her son. She then relocated back home to Ohio in the early 60’s, where they lived until relocating to Atlanta, GA in 1971. While in Atlanta, she worked as a book binder for Foote & Davies for over 20 years. She later moved to McDonough, GA with her family and lived there for 15 years, before relocating to Savannah, GA, to be near her granddaughter and great- granddaughters.

She was quick witted with an awesome sense of humor. She had the biggest heart and would do anything for anybody. She loved to dance and skate (in her younger years). She loved to watch spooky movies or dancing shows. She was in love with John Wayne and mourned the entire day that he died. She enjoyed writing, especially to her siblings, nieces, and nephews. She loved children and always wanted a house full of them.

She had been a widow for almost 30 years. Bob was the only man for her and no one else could compare. She loved him dearly and finally gets to see him again. Maybe they are skating together right now.

She’s survived by her son, Dale Ward (Lisa): granddaughter, Amber Ward Fouts (Matt): great- granddaughters Savanna and Elizabeth: younger sister, Ruth McRae (Nelson): younger brother, Walther “Butch” Campbell (Cindy) and many, many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly and Kairamy and Cali.
