How I will remember Gene. His older brother is married this year 64 years to my sister (Ed) and Delores Powell. So many memories thru those decades. In his youth he ran off with guy friends to New Orleans. Soon came back home to Savannah, joined the Marines. He met and married Annie Laurie Sikes. Then came Rhonda their only child. Before all that he was a Yo-Yo champ in Savannah back in the day. It was amazing to watch this yo-yo in action. Short in stature a tough man. Friendly, funny laugh. Always happy. Always fishing with the Kutchey man, Ed, Butch Hodges. Later when Rhonda was a young teen I came to be their next door neighbor. My family was David Andrews and our daughter Melissa. I am sorry to say not much contact with Gene and Rhonda in this century. Good by Gene I will always remember you and Ann. May you rest in peace.
