Catherine Convery Heston, 77, went to be with her Lord in Heaven on Thursday, March 23, 2017.
Catherine was born on May 15, 1939 in Yorktown Heights, NY to the late Joseph and Catherine Flynn Convery. She graduated from Yorktown Heights High School and Roosevelt Nursing School in New York City.
She is survived by her husband, Craig Heston, with whom she shared a blessed union of 56 years; her daughters, Amy Palmieri (Nick), Laura West, and Tricia Hogan; a son, George Heston; eight cherished grandchildren, Caitlin, Nicholas and Jack Palmieri, Mary Catherine and William West, and Grace, Patrick and Jonathan Hogan; and a brother, Patrick Convery.
Catherine was a devout Roman Catholic who loved her family and friends. She was very proud of her Irish heritage and loved spending time on Tybee Island. She was passionate about Bridge, Dominos and reading and was a strong supporter of New Horizons of the Mohawk Valley.
A Memorial Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A celebration of Catherine’s life will also be held in New York in the coming months.
The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Morris, the nurses and staff at Memorial Hospital and Hospice House of Savannah.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests remembrances in Catherine’s name be made to the Heston Fund at New Horizons, c/o the Utica, NY YWCA, 1000 Cornelia St., Utica, NY 13502.
