Paul Henry Tietz

Paul Henry Tietz of Savannah, Georgia, passed away on October 1, 2017. Paul was born July 19, 1949, in Williston, North Dakota. He attended the Blake School of Minneapolis, Minnesota, before receiving a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Juris Doctor degree from Duke Law School. He met and married Adrienne Teissier Tietz in 1980 in New York City before moving to Minneapolis, where he practiced law for over 25 years. Paul and Adrienne moved to Savannah in 2013 to be with many long-time friends while he continued to practice law at Gray Pannell & Woodward LLP.

Paul is survived by Adrienne, his wife of 37 years; his son Paul Jr. of New York City; his daughter Elizabeth of London, England (and husband Rob); his grandson Thomas Windle of London, England; his sister Mary Wheeler of Chevy Chase, Maryland (and husband Porter); and his nephew Mark Wheeler of San Francisco, California. Paul was a fellow of the American College of Bond Counsel, which recognizes lawyers who have established reputations among peers for their skill, experience, and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of public finance and municipal bond law. He was also a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Hennepin County, Minnesota, New York, Savannah, and American Bar Associations. He was a member of the Savannah Golf Club, the Oglethorpe Club, the Penn Club of New York, and the New York Athletic Club.

After a private service for the family, a memorial reception will be held at the Oglethorpe Club in Savannah on Friday, October 6, 2017, at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church (429 Abercorn Street, Savannah, Georgia 31401).

I am sorry for your loss. Death is painful to all of us. However God's word the Bible always offers encouragement. A scripture I find comforting is Isaiah 25:8. There Jehovah promises to do away with death and all things that bring us pain. That will be very satisfying! I hope this thought has been comforting to you. May positive thoughts fill you hearts and minds as you endure this difficult time.

My condolences to the family. May you find comfort in the scripture at Revelation 21:4 and the website jw. org.
