Lee D. Dotson
July 27, 1930 - October 19, 2017
Lee Davis Dotson, 87, died Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Azalealand Nursing Home.
Lee was born July 27, 1930 to Willie Lauren Davis and Bessie Lee Hagan. She attended Barnard Street School, Chatham Junior High School and Commercial High School, Class of 1949. During high school she played basketball and was a cheerleader. During her senior year she worked part time with Leopold’s and Adlers Clothing Store. After graduation she worked at the Savannah Morning News and Press. In 1950 she began her career with Southern Bell-Telephone and Telegraph Company, retiring in 1984. She was a past president of The Telephone Pioneers and won the Outstanding Council Award for the state of Georgia. Her husband of 62 years, James E. Dotson, preceded her in death on September 15, 2017. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Azaleland Nursing Home for the excellent care provided to both Mr. and Mrs. Dotson.
Mrs. Dotson is survived two children James Dotson, Jr. (Susan), and Cindy Simons (Bruce); three grandchildren, James Dotson III, Jessica Bradley (Jason), and Matthew Simons, and three great-grandchildren, Maria Dotson, Dayton Dotson and McKenna Bradley.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 23, 2017 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 am. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be private.

I'm so sorry to hear that my (aunt Bill)and Jimmy have both passed away.I use to call Jimmy frequently to find out how they were doing.Again I'm so sorry for the loss of both of them.

I do miss you Mrs. Dotson. The room isn't the same without you and your husband.I'll remember every time it makes me sad that you're now with Mr. Dotson dancing and the Angels pain free. They say God puts people in your life for a reason. I'm just glad he put y'all in my Life, even if it was only 3 years. RIP Mrs. Dotson. I'll miss y'all both!!! ??? Tell my husband Ron hello. ???

Cindy, i will always remember your mom and i shareing receips, and how we loved to cook.The last time i took them something to eat was ms.Dotson birthday it was chicken and dumplings.It was a honor to know them, and i hope we (the sitters) help ms.Dotson.
