In Loving Memory of

Tyson William Dunfee

October 14, 1978 – October 11, 2026

Forever My Love, Forever in Our Hearts

Some love stories are so beautiful that even death cannot bring them to an end.

With unimaginable sadness and hearts filled with love, we announce the passing of Tyson William Dunfee, who departed this life on October 11, 2026, just three days before his 48th birthday.“Tyson was born on October 14, 1978, in Wheeling, West Virginia to Bill and Rodona Dunfee.”

Tyson was a remarkable man whose charisma, humor, kindness, and joyful spirit made him truly unforgettable. He had a special way of lighting up a room, making people laugh, and bringing happiness to those around him. His quick wit, playful sarcasm, and wonderful sense of humor were part of what made him so special. To know Tyson was to love him.

He found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. Tyson loved college football, spending time in the kitchen cooking delicious meals, and had recently discovered a new passion for baking. He also enjoyed watching FOX News, a familiar part of his daily routine. Above all, he adored his beloved dogs, Sarge and Cowboy, who brought him endless joy and companionship.

But beyond his hobbies and wonderful personality, Tyson was a man with an extraordinary heart. He was kind, loving, charismatic, and deeply cherished by those fortunate enough to be part of his life.

To his loving husband, Winston Jimenez Scott, Tyson was so much more than a husband. He was his best friend, his soulmate, his companion, his greatest love, and his home. Together, they shared a beautiful love story filled with laughter, unforgettable memories, and the little everyday moments that make a lifetime so meaningful.

Although Tyson’s time on earth ended far too soon, the love he gave and the happiness he brought into this world will never fade.

Today, we celebrate his life, his laughter, his unforgettable personality, and the beautiful memories he leaves behind. We remember the man who could make us smile with a sarcastic remark, brighten an ordinary day with his humor, and make life more beautiful simply by being himself.

His absence leaves an immeasurable emptiness, but his love will continue to live in every memory, every smile, and every heart he touched.

Tyson, you were the best man I have ever known. Thank you for your love, your laughter, and the beautiful life we shared. You will always be my greatest love, my favorite person, and a part of everything I am.

Until we meet again, my love.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever remembered.

With all my love,

Your husband, Winston Jimenez Scott

Thank you for answering the phone, for showing up, for believing in me, for making me laugh, and for letting me be myself without ever feeling judged. My heart is broken because your place in my life was real, your friendship was a gift. I don't know how to make peace with the fact that someone who was such a constant in my work life is now someone I have to miss. I only know that I am better for having known you, and I will forever be grateful our paths crossed. There will always be stories that make me laugh because of you, memories that make me cry because I miss you, and little reminders of you tucked into the most unexpected corners of my days. And somewhere, I hope you know that your girl is still out here being her usual ridiculous self, probably saving a sauce packet she doesn't need, washing out a Ziploc bag that should have been thrown away three uses ago and losing her car in ever hospital parking garage. I just wish I could call you and tell you about it. Forever my work bestie. Forever my safe space. Forever missed. I love you, Tyson. And I will never stop being thankful that I got to call you my friend. ~ Heather Godfrey ~

Tyson, my heart broke yesterday hearing that you left us. You are truly missed and loved. You were sunshine and always left someone and some place so much better than you found it. You always made each one of us like we were your favorite person and office to visit. There will never be another you. I was going to send your Happy Birthday text to you on Wednesday but seems like you got your celebration started early with Jesus. Keeping Winston and your precious furbaby in my prayers, that God will continue to give them peace and comfort during this time. Rest in peace my friend and we will see each other again one day. Love ya and miss you much!! Meggan L.

Winston and Dunfee family, I had the great pleasure of knowing Tyson because he would call on our office for work. We all looked so forward to seeing him whether he was bringing lunch, popping in to say hello, or brining us a cold treat. Tyson lit up a room the minute he entered. He was always in a great mood and ready to share a laugh and a huge smile. I am so deeply sorry for your loss. Thinking of you all during this difficult time. We will miss you Tyson. Tyson, there are not words for the hole your loss is leaving in our hearts. You always lifted me up when I was down, was always a phone call away if I needed support or a laugh. Thank you for the light you shared in what can sometimes be a dark place. Love you forever.

Tyson was the BEST!! I am beyond shocked and devastated to learn of his passing. He was a great friend back in the day and helped me through hard times. What a smile and laugh he had.

Tyson was one of the sweetest most thoughtful human beings I've ever met. He was my favorite drug representative hands down. I use to look forward to seeing him so that he could imitate Winston. The way he loved his husband, was clear with how he lit up when he spoke about him. Tyson you will truly be missed!!! Thank you for being a light in our office, and for really seeing each of us individually. Thank you for being you.

- Jasmine T, Jesup, Georgia

Tyson, my Shug, I'm so heartbroken to learn of your passing. There aren't enough words to describe the void you'll leave in so many lives. Your sincerity, tenderness and love for people was something that will always stay with me. You were everyone's biggest cheerleader, genuine in your celebrations of others life achievements. I will miss you my friend. Thank you for showing endless care for me and my family, thank you for being the gentle and kind soul who touched so many lives. I will always carry a piece of you with me. And I hope I see signs that you're still with us someway. As you always told me ‘ya can't get rid of me that easy Shug!' To Winston, hearing Tyson speak of your love is to know what it's like to be truly and wholly loved. My heart and prayers are with you.

Tyson, you were the greatest, funniest and most loyal friend to me when times were tough during our teenage years and that kindness never left my heart when I remembered and reflected throughout the years. I am devastated to learn your light has left us far too soon. Your love and memory will live still through every one of us who was lucky enough to have known and loved you. Rest forever in peace my friend xxx

I was Tyson's neighbor in Barnesville. He and my daughter, Amy, played together as children and shared many times as they grew older. Winston, your description of Ty is what I remember about him. I am devastated this kind soul is gone. Please accept my condolences.

I met Tyson when I worked as a medical assistant in pediatrics for GCP. He walked in one sunny afternoon with lunch for our office and we clicked right away. Needless to say it didn't surprise us that we are both Libras. His birthday being the 14th and mine the 18th. Such a sweet soul and always made me laugh and smile. He will be so missed. Love and prayers to his family, friends, and of course his husband. Ashley

- Ashley Adams, Cameron, NC

I have so many wonderful memories of growing up with Tyson. I treated him like my baby doll when he was little and when he got older he always said he had three moms because we were all so protective of him. He was such a funny, giving, and loving brother. Tyson's quick wit was truly the best. We got in trouble so much because we would play off each other—we honestly thought we were hilarious, maybe even the funniest people ever. I always admired him for his work ethic, his determination to be the best, and his incredible ability to light up any room he walked into. Although I wasn't able to share his life with him over the last several years, I never stopped loving him, missing him, and praying for a reunion. For a long time now, I have had a hole in my heart, and now that hole is just so much bigger. I love you, little brother. To Winston: I am holding you close in my thoughts and sending you strength during this incredibly difficult time. Thank you for the life and love you shared with Tyson. I look forward to the day we can share stories about our mutual love for him.

- Lorrissa, Belmont, Ohio

I met Tyson in 1996 when he was a transfer student from a local school. He was a senior and I was a junior. We quickly hit it off and started dating. We fell in love and eventually got engaged. We started planning our wedding while attending college, but life eventually took us down different paths. Although our lives went in different directions, he was a very special part of my younger years, and those memories will always be part of my story. Rest peacefully old friend! To Winston, my deepest and most sincere condolences to you. Wishing you comfort and peace during this difficult time.
