Marie Clancy Guerard passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on October 5, 2026 after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer’s. 
A devoted mother and grandmother, she dedicated her life to family.  Her legacy is one of educating, sacrifice, giving, and love. A Savannah native, Marie was the daughter of the late John Joseph Clancy Jr. and Ella Nugent Clancy.  She graduated from St. Vincents Academy and attended college in Virginia where she graduated with a degree in Interior Design.  Marie was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Savannah, Georgia
She loved her friends and family. She was the consummate southern hostess that provided legendary memories for all that attended her Christmas Eve party.  Through good times and bad you could always count on Marie’s loyalty and love.  She lit up a room from the time she walked in until well after she left.  Her smile was addictive and her conversation was always stimulating, intelligent and fun.  She will be forever remembered by the many whose lives she touched.  

She is survived by her daughter, Annie Laurie Guerard; her son Richard D. Guerard Jr.; and her grandchildren Emmeline Hale Guerard and Richard D. Guerard, III.

She will be greatly missed for her strength, humor, love and uncanny ability to bring happiness and fun into any moment.

A private graveside ceremony will be held for the family.
