Celebrating the life of

Sara Rebecca (Becky) Williams

September 01, 1953 - July 08, 2026

Sara Rebecca (Becky) Williams

Sara Rebecca Williams, lovingly known to family and friends as Becky, suddenly passed away at her home from natural causes leaving behind a legacy of kindness, hospitality, and unwavering love for others.

Born in Savannah, Georgia on September 1, 1953 to Lois and Bruce Sheppard, Becky was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jerry Sheppard.

Becky attended Savannah High School before continuing her education at St. Andrews Presbyterian College. Throughout her life, she was known for her warm heart, quick smile, and remarkable ability to make everyone she met feel welcome. She truly never met a stranger.

She married Cleve Williams in January of 1976. In 1979, Becky welcomed her daughter, Katie, into the world, a moment that forever changed her life. That joy multiplied in 2014 with the birth of her granddaughter, Mallie, who quickly became the love of her life and changed her name to BeBe.

Becky had many talents and passions. She loved cooking for family and friends, entertaining, collecting and appreciating all forms of art, reading books, enjoying poetry, traveling, and listening to music. She had a deep appreciation for beauty in all its forms and found joy in sharing those experiences with the people she loved.

Professionally, Becky worked in sales before finding her true calling in hospitality. She became one of Savannah's most respected concierges, taking immense pride in helping visitors discover the charm and history of the city she loved. If you needed a reservation, Becky would always make it happen for you! Her gift for connecting with people made her exceptional in her work and endeared her to countless guests and colleagues alike.

Becky's heart was devoted to service. She had a special love for both people and animals and was always among the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need or an animal looking for a home or special care. She was instrumental in founding a women's breakfast gathering that has grown over the years into a lasting and supportive community. Being of service to others was not simply something Becky did—it was who she was.

She is survived by her daughter, Katie Williams; her cherished granddaughter, Mallie; and many extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her love, laughter, wisdom, and generous spirit.

Becky's life was defined not by the years she lived, but by the countless lives she touched. Her compassion, grace, and ability to make everyone feel seen and valued will remain her enduring legacy. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A memorial service will be held at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel on Friday July 24th at 10:00 am with a celebration of life reception to follow at Tubbys in Thunderbolt.

In lieu of flowers, please perform a random act of kindness, lend a hand to someone—or an animal—in need, or honor her memory by bringing reusable bags to the grocery store. She'd be smiling knowing one less plastic bag made it into the world. And don't forget to recycle... she'd probably be reminding you anyway as she always tried to leave the world a little better than she found it.
